The 2026 American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Annual Meeting, March 7-10 just outside Washington D.C., will conclude with a closing reception at the historic Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, Virginia.

Located along the Potomac River in Old Town Alexandria, the Torpedo Factory Art Center is a former U.S. Naval Torpedo Station munitions plant that now serves as a hub for working artists. The center houses the largest collection of publicly accessible artist studios in the United States and is widely recognized for its role in community arts and cultural placemaking. Its industrial architecture and gallery spaces will provide the setting for an after-hours reception.

Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with colleagues, reflect on the week’s scientific sessions and enjoy food, drinks and artwork from local artists.

The closing reception will take place on March 10, 7:30–9:30 pm. Advance registration is required and costs $60. Registration is available during meeting sign-up and includes shuttle service between the Torpedo Factory Art Center and the Gaylord National Harbor Resort.

"The reception will be a great place to recognize and celebrate our great community of scientists that make ASBMB special," Aaron Hoskins, ASBMB 2026 co-chair and professor of biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, said.

Early registration is encouraged. The event can be added during registration for the 2026 ASBMB Annual Meeting.
