ASBMB welcomes Victoria Forlini as Chief Program and Business Innovation Officer

The American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology announced today that Victoria Forlini, MBA, MA, CAE, will join the society as Chief Program and Business Innovation Officer. In the role, she will lead strategy and operations for ASBMB’s growing family of journals, its annual meeting and small meetings program and its higher education and professional development portfolio, as well as work closely with executive and volunteer leadership to help guide organizational directions. Forlini will join ASBMB on February 16, 2026.

Her experience driving impact for scientific societies will help ASBMB realize its vision to catalyze the infinite potential of molecular life science and support and engage our vibrant community,” said Mona Miller, ASBMB Chief Executive Officer. “She brings substantial demonstrated strengths working collaboratively with volunteers and staff to set and achieve exciting goals. At a time of both opportunity and change in the scientific community, she will be a key partner to me and our council to sustain ASBMB outstanding strengths and reinforce our bright future.”

“What drew me to ASBMB is its deep commitment to scientific rigor, volunteer leadership and community,” said Forlini. “I look forward to working closely with ASBMB’s council, scientists and staff to ensure the society’s programs remain trusted and impactful as we grow all aspects of the community for today and for the future.”

Forlini joins ASBMB with more than 20 years of professional experience. Most recently, she has been Chief Strategic Operations Officer at the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology, overseeing its scientific meetings and conferences and informing broader operations. Previously, she served at the American Geophysical Union for 14 years in progressively senior roles directing meetings, strategic projects and the executive office. She began her AGU tenure in journal editorial operations and helped facilitate and support its transition to a new publishing partnership. She launched her early career in medical publishing.

A Certified Association Executive, Forlini earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa, her Master of Journalism degree from Northwestern University and her Master of Business Administration from Drake University. She is an active volunteer at the American Society of Association Executives, the Coalition of Engineering and Scientific Society Executives and the Association Women Technology Champions. She also volunteers for local science and community-building organizations.
