Deferred payment option for federal government employees
We understand that many individuals may be experiencing administrative delays due to the ongoing federal government shutdown. To ensure that everyone in our scientific community can participate in the 2026 ASBMB Annual Meeting, we’re offering a deferred payment option for abstract submissions. This option allows authors to submit abstracts now and complete payment once normal government operations resume. To defer payment, use code GOV26 when you submit your abstract.
Eligibility
- Available to U.S. federal government employees affected by the shutdown
- Applies only to abstract submission fees
- One deferred payment code per submitter
Conditions
- Abstracts submitted with a deferred payment code will be marked as “pending payment”
- Payment must be completed within 30 days of the government reopening
- Unpaid abstracts after the payment deadline may be withdrawn
