Fellow nomination review

Nominations are reviewed by the ASBMB Membership Committee in two stages.

First, groups (3–5 people) from the subcommittee will evaluate whether the nomination letter has noted the specific and substantial contributions the nominee has made to the ASBMB and that the nominee meets the basic expectations of the ASBMB Fellows program.

Second, the full subcommittee (5–7 people) will evaluate qualified nominees subject to a comprehensive and holistic review of both specific and substantial contributions the nominee has made to the ASBMB and noteworthy professional contributions the nominee has made in their field, beyond the ASBMB. This subcommittee will present its recommendations to the full Membership Committee for discussion and a vote, with a two-thirds majority needed to move forward a slate of prospective fellows.

The recommended names will be presented to the ASBMB Council for final approval.
