ASBMB Herbert Tabor Research Award

Nominations for the 2026 ASBMB Annual Awards will open in March.

The ASBMB Herbert Tabor Research Award is given for outstanding, innovative accomplishments in biological chemistry and molecular biology and contributions to the community of scientists. This award is the society's highest honor and was established in recognition of the long-standing contributions of Dr. Herb Tabor to the ASBMB and to scientific communication through its journals.

Both nominees and nominators must be ASBMB members and nominees must have published in the Journal of Biological Chemistry.

The award consists of a plaque, a $30,000 research award and travel expenses to present a plenary lecture at the ASBMB annual meeting.
