Volunteer opportunities
ASBMB has several opportunities for members to contribute to the success of the annual meeting, whether virtually in the lead-up or in person at the meeting.
Volunteer opportunities include:
Prior to the annual meeting (all virtual; no attendance requirement)
- Review of workshops and/or mini-symposium proposals (Sept. 18 – Oct. 1)
- Review of early-decision abstracts (Oct. 7–17)
- Review of emerging investigator seminar abstracts (Nov. 12 – Dec. 1)
- Review of travel award applications (Nov. 14 – Dec. 5)
- Review of late-breaking abstracts (Dec. 22 – Jan. 15)
- Pre-judging of undergraduate poster competition posters (Feb. 9–20)
At the annual meeting (in person; meeting registration required)
- Greeting/assisting attendees at the registration desk
- Judging posters at the undergraduate poster competition
- Timekeeping in sessions
- Wayfinding
