Susanna Greer, Ph.D., is the National Director of the Clinical Cancer Research, Nutrition and Immunology Program at the American Cancer Society. Previously, Susanna was a tenured Associate Professor of Immunology at Georgia State University (GSU) where she was Director of the Interdisciplinary Molecular Basis of Disease Area of Focus and a Georgia Cancer Coalition Distinguished Cancer Scholar. Susanna’s research at GSU focused on the ability of cancer cells to avoid detection by the immune response, enabling unrestricted cancer growth and metastasis. Susanna completed her doctorate in Immunology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and her postdoctoral studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Susanna is currently President of Greer Consulting, Science Speak Easy, where she serves as a science advocate and professional science communicator. Through her consulting firm, Susanna helps facilitate communication between scientists and lay audiences based on identification of shared goals, benefit analysis, and non-technical delivery.
