About ASBMB's Publications
ASBMB publishes three prestigious research journals and a monthly magazine covering society news, committee activities, member achievements and news of interest to our members. ASBMB's journals publish original research in the fields of microbiology, molecular genetics, RNA-related research, proteomics, genomics, transcription, peptides, cell signaling, lipidomics and systems biology. All articles undergo an extensive peer-review process and are published online as Papers in Press upon acceptance.

The Journal of Biological Chemistry (JBC)
For more than 100 years, the JBC has been an essential resource for the international community of biomedical researchers. Today, the Journal continues to be a standard-bearer for excellence in the fields of biochemistry and molecular biology.
In November 2012, the journal launched the affinity sites, which are websites organized by the subspecialties of biochemistry and molecular biology. Each site carries content specific to that subspecialty but also highlights connections to other areas of research. JBC Editor-in-Chief Martha J. Fedor at The Scripps Research Institute says new affinity groups will make browsing the Journal’s extensive body of research more efficient and possibly foster collaboration between the Journal’s contributors.
- Published weekly, over 38,000 pages annually
- Papers of the Week represent the top 2 percent of JBC papers
- The Classics and Reflections highlight seminal articles from the JBC archive and the authors behind them
- Minireviewsprovide concise summaries of rapidly evolving trends and advances in biochemistry and molecular biology
Author profiles showcase up-and-coming Paper of the Week authors and invited minireview authors
- To underline its committment to the progress of science, the JBC offers teaching tools for educating young scientists

Molecular & Cellular Proteomics (MCP) showcases contributions that describe the structural and functional properties of proteins and their expression, particularly with respect to developmental time courses. Emphasis is placed on determining how the presence or absence of proteins affect biological responses, and how the interaction of proteins with their cellular partners influences their functions. Mission statement.
- Published online only on a monthly basis, over 2,400 pages a year
- The journal publishes several theme issues every year, such as Clinical Proteomics and Biomarker Discovery and articles from the International Symposium on Mass Spectrometry in Health and Life Sciences

The Journal of Lipid Research (JLR) is the most-cited journal devoted to lipids in the world. For over 50 years, it has focused on the science of lipids in health and disease. The JLR aims to be on the forefront of the emerging areas of genomics, proteomics, and lipidomics as they relate to lipid metabolism and function.
Aim and scope.

JBC Thematic Minireview Series
ASBMB Journals produce a number of special topic series every year, including research on Alzheimer Disease, Clinical Proteomics, Metals in Biology, Anniversary Journals Editions and many more. These collections help readers keep abreast of the advances and trends in biochemical research outside their own area of expertise.
Society Magazine
ASBMB Today, the Society's monthly news magazine, contains extensive coverage of awards, meetings, research highlights, job placement advertising and human interest articles. The editor welcomes letters and articles suitable for publication from Society members regarding public or scientific issues, as well as reader comments. All ASBMB members receive a complimentary subscription to ASBMB Today.
100 Years of the Chemistry of Life
This ASBMB publication chronicles the last century of advances in the studies of biochemistry and molecular biology as well as the history of the society including biographies of all past presidents and Nobel prize winners.
