AAAS Mentor Award Nominations

AAAS logoJuly 20, 2010 -- Nomination deadline for the prestigious American Association for the Advancement of Science Mentor Award is next week, July 31.  The Mentor Awards honor individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership to increase the participation of underrepresented groups in the science and engineering, PhD workforce.  More information... 

Research Spotlight on Dr. Aguilera Renato

A. Renato smallJuly 01, 2010 -- Dr. Aguilera Renato is a professor of biology and director of the biology graduate program at University of Texas in El Paso (UTEP).  In addition to teaching and research, Dr. Renato is also very actively involved in programs that promote minority education and research.  These include Research Initiatives for Scientific Enhancement (RISE) and Support for Competitive Research (SCORE).  Learn more about Dr. Aguilera Renato's experience as a minority scientist.  

 
Expanding Diversity on Campus 

AAAS logoMay 7, 2010 -- AAAS and AAU recently published a first-of-its-kind handbook which offers in-depth, cross-referenced legal resources to help promote effective diversity programs for science faculty and students.  Download a copy.   

 
 
ASBMB Announces Diversity in Science Award
