ASBMB ANNUAL MEETING ORIENTATION FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

Saturday, April 2, 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Learn how to take advantage of all the opportunities available during the meeting. This orientation is open to all undergraduates. All ASBMB undergraduate travel award winners are required to attend. No registration is required.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT RESEARCH POSTER COMPETITION

Saturday, April 2, 12:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Present your poster to your peers and faculty prior to presenting during the main Experimental Biology meeting. Prizes are awarded to the top poster authors. Representatives from U.S. graduate schools are available to answer questions. Pre-registration is required. Learn more. 

EXPLORING CAREERS SPEED-NETWORKING EVENT

Meet scientists from a wide range of careers and learn about their career paths. No registration is required.

OPENING RECEPTION & SCIENCE OUTREACH POSTER SESSION
San Diego Convention Center, Sails Pavilion
Saturday, April 2, 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM (immediately following the ASBMB opening lecture)
Begin your meeting experience by networking with fellow attendees at the ASBMB opening reception. Outreach posters demonstrating a wide range of outreach efforts across our membership are on display during the reception. An abstract submission is required to present a poster. 

ASBMB EXEMPLARY CONTRIBUTIONS TO EDUCATION AWARD LECTURE

Join this informational session on how to organize ASBMB Student Chapters activities, scientific meetings and outreach events. Those interested in starting a chapter are encouraged to attend. No registration is required

Y.E.S. MIXER (YOUNG EXPERIMENTAL SCIENTISTS)
San Diego Marriott and Marina, Marina Ballroom G
Monday, April 4, 9:00 PM -11:30 PM
The Y.E.S. Mixer brings together trainees from all Experimental Biology disciplines for a dance party. Meeting registration badges must be worn to gain admittance. Beverage tickets are issued at the door. Alcohol is not served to those under 21 or those without proper ID.

ASBMB WOMEN SCIENTISTS PANEL AND NETWORKING RECEPTION

Each year, the ASBMB sponsors a session for women scientists to reflect on their careers and general issues surrounding women’s participation in science. No registration is required.
