Student Chapters Travel Award

This system should only be used for undergraduates who have been designated by their chapter's faculty adviser as that chapter's Student Chapters Travel Award recipient. All other undergraduates should apply using the Undergraduate Competitive Travel Award application.

Each Student Chapters travel award provides up to $500 to support a designated Student Chapters member to present his/her research at the ASBMB annual meeting.
 All travel awards are given on reimbursement basis. Failure to attend the meeting and participate in required events will disqualify a student from receiving the travel award. 

Student Chapters travel award requirements:

  • This award is designated at the discretion of the chapter faculty adviser.
  • Each chapter may designate one travel awardee if it has five or more members. Chapters with 20 or more members may designate two travel awards.
  • The undergraduate student must be a member of an active chapter that has paid its 2016-2017 chapter dues.
  • Each travel award recipient must submit his/her poster abstract as first author to an ASBMB Topic Category (#2000-2324) by the Nov. 17 abstract submission deadline. Absolutely no exceptions are made, and late-breaking abstracts are not eligible.

Attendance is required at the above events. Failure to attend will result in a forfeiture of the travel award. 

How to apply:

Student designate (not the adviser) must login with student's member email and password to complete the application. If you have not been designated by your chapter's faculty adviser as the recipient, do not apply using this system.

1.     Copy of abstract submitted as first author to an ASBMB topic category in .pdf format.  All other file formats must be converted to .pdf.
