Promoting Active Learning & Mentoring project
The PALM network was
established to spark sustained biology education reform at diverse
institutions through one-on-one mentorships for faculty members new to
approaches based on Vision and Change recommendations. The ASBMB is a partner
society in the PALM network. ASBMB members can apply for PALM
fellowships, which provide funding for mentoring visits and meeting
ASBMB offers a policy fellowship and brings postdocs to
Washington, D.C. for the society's annual Capitol Hill day. The society also leads a
grassroots advocacy campaign to enable scientists to advocate virtually.
Concept-driven teaching strategies project
The project website contains information on the society-developed
foundational concepts of biochemistry and molecular biology, course
materials and assessment instruments and tools. The project originally
was funded by the National Science Foundation.
