At a recent Congressional hearing, ASBMB President Gregory Petsko urged members of Congress to support a $7.68 billion budget for the National Science Foundation in 2011.

• “Evolutionary Love Story” Celebrates Darwin’s Legacy 
On March 22, a new play celebrating Charles Darwin’s impact debuted at the Bethesda Theatre in Maryland.

• Wisconsin Honors Official Microbe
The Wisconsin State Assembly took an important step toward designating the “unsung hero” of the cheese-making industry as the official state microbe.
