Chronicling women's contributions

Help us build our new online teaching tool highlighting the contributions of female  scientists who have shaped our knowledge of biochemistry and molecular biology and who have otherwise made lasting impressions. Our interactive slideshow features dozens of notable researchers, but we welcome your contributions to make the resource more robust and comprehensive for classroom use. See the slideshow below, and email asbmbtoday@asbmb.org to add other scientists to it.

Editor's note: Another excellent resource on this topic is the article “One hundred years of American women in biochemistry” by Adele J. Wolfson. The ASBMB Today team thanks Wolfson for providing such a great foundation in that piece for this new resource and for resources to come.

I liked this very much! nice that almost all were willing/proud to put their year of birth. I am happy that I have met several of these fine scientists and leaders. Kay Huebner, Ohio State University

I call your attention to my thesis advisor, Audrey L Stevens; member NAS and recognized especially as a discoverer of RNA polymerase. Frederick Varricchio, MD, PhD
