Translational-center plans move forward

The working group also provided advice on choosing a director for the center, noting that he or she should have “a unique blend of expertise and experience that transcends a single field or discipline” and should ideally “be experienced in both academia and the private sector.”

The NIH has formed a search committee but will not be able to bring on a director until the center is officially established and funded by Congress.
