Can you give some background on yourself and your research?
My research focuses on understanding the neuroprotective mechanisms of propeptides derived from the glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor. This information will serve as a platform for the development of new therapeutics for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson’s disease.

What did you expect from your participation in our Congressional visits program?
From my participation in Hill Day, I hoped to learn more about the policies behind science funding and how as students and researchers we can get more involved in the funding process through events like this one.
