Can you give some background on yourself and your research?
My research focuses on understanding the mechanisms of breast cancer progression through examining interactions of co-activators with the estrogen receptor as well as looking at the role of miRNAs in metastasis. This research can give us a better understanding of the estrogen receptor and possibly help us find novel proteins involved in breast cancer and metastasis. My future plans are to pursue an academic career as well as continue to be involved in science advocacy.

What did you expect from your participation in our Congressional visits program?
By participating in Hill Day, I expected to learn firsthand how scientists can play a role in advocating for their interests in congress.
