WE NEED YOU!
Volunteer Judges Needed for the 13th Annual Undergraduate Student Research Poster Competition.
We invite you to help the ASBMB Poster Competition Organizing Committee by volunteering your time to be a judge at the 13th Annual ASBMB Undergraduate Student Research Poster Competition, Saturday, April 18, 2009, beginning at 11:30 AM with a judges orientation session and concluding at 5:30 PM.
While we expect over 125 student presenters, you will judge six-seven posters.
You will not be asked to judge your students' posters or any poster related to your school.
Undergraduate Faculty and PI's are encouraged to volunteer.
Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Fellows are welcome to sign up to help and will be mentored through the judging process by a faculty member.
IMPORTANT **Graduate and Postdoctoral Travel Award recipients will be obligated to attend events specifically related to their travel award all day Saturday, April 18th. Therefore, we request that travel award applicants consider volunteering for a future competition.
If you are unable to serve as a judge, it would be wonderful if you would stop by the competition to chat with a few students and offer some words of encouragement.
HOW TO SIGN UP:
Sign up when submitting your abstract to the ASBMB Annual Meeting. Check the “Poster Competition Judge” box which appears after selecting your ASBMB Topic Category.
On or after February 6, 2009, if you are interested in serving as a judge, please contact the Poster Competition Organizing Committee Chair, Dr. Kathleen Cornely, directly with your inquiry and contact information.
All judges will be contacted via email by the Poster Competition Organizing Committee with additional information and to confirm your participation.
Thank you for generously giving your time to participate as a judge.
