November Research Spotlight on Alberto Rascon
November 6, 2012 -- Alberto Rascon is a NIH IRACDA Scholars In Science postdoctoral fellow in James H. McKerrow’s lab at UCSF. He also teaches at San Francisco State University, a minority serving institution. As a first generation Mexican-American, Alberto experienced many hardships growing up. He credits his mother for keeping him and his brothers out of trouble and in school. His childhood experiences and his career choice have made him a firm believer in encouraging and influencing students from underserved minority populations to pursue careers in science.
