Grant Training Workshop

 The ASBMB runs regular grant writing workshops. These workshops are designed to help early career scientists and senior postdoctoral scholars write winning research proposals to the National Science Foundation (NSF).

Workshop components:

  • Lectures on grant-writing and grantsmanship
  • Opportunities for participants to give presentations of their ideas for funding to expert reviewers and receive detailed and honest feedback
  • Mock grant review panels
  • Case-studies and small group discussions
  • Q&A session on Broader Impacts
  • Open discussion sessions on understanding reviewers comments & revising applications in response to criticism 
  • Panel discussions on NSF funding mechanisms

Participant Requirements:  

  • Applicants should be early career faculty or senior postdoctoral fellows
  • Underrepresented minority scientists are encouraged to apply
  • Participants are responsible for their own travel and lodging.  The ASBMB will cover all onsite costs, including group meals.
