ASBMB 2011 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS AND POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWS

Join us for a day and a half of exciting pre-meeting programming offering graduate students and postdoctoral fellows interactive professional development workshops, networking events and an exploration of careers open to young scientists both at the bench and beyond.  ASBMB’s Professional Development Program for Graduates and Postdocs has been developed over the past five years based on the feedback from each year’s attendees.  

Friday’s events are by invitation only to our travel award recipients.  Saturday’s program is open to all graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who have registered in advance during the Experimental Biology meeting registration process.  Space is limited.

Friday’s events honor ASBMB’s Graduate/Postdoctoral and Graduate Minority Travel Awardees.   An inspiring plenary presentation will set the tone and be followed by a poster session and reception.  The poster session offers awardees a great opportunity to network and present their work amongst peers in a festive atmosphere.  Expect a visit from members of ASBMB’s governing Council who are enthusiastic supporters of our graduate and postdoctoral trainees.  Event details will be provided to all travel award recipients.  Learn more...

Begin the morning exploring an array of career options that could inspire your future professional endeavors at the bench or beyond.  Continue the discussion with our panelists over lunch and network with fellow attendees who may help you land your first, next or future job.  Afternoon workshops focus on career development issues facing graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in today’s professional environment with ample opportunity to get your questions answered.  Learn more...

Registration for Saturday’s program is available through the Experimental Biology (EB) meeting registration site only.  Sign up for this event when you register for the EB meeting.

 

ASBMB Travel Award recipients do NOT have to register for this event, but participation in Saturday's program is mandatory for ASBMB Graduate/Postdoc and Graduate Minority Travel Award recipients.  All other interested attendees must be registered in advance.  

Space is limited and registration will close when the event is fully subscribed.  There will be no onsite registration.
