If you are a graduate student or postdoc and are interested in pursuing a career as an academic scientist, you may be curious about the steps you can take now to start preparing to be a future faculty member.  Listed below are several useful links:

The Tomorrows-Professor Listserv
This listserv will send you postings twice weekly, on diverse topics of interest for faculty members helping you prepare for, find, and succeed at an academic career in science.

Making the Right Moves
This is a guide for graduate students, postdocs, and new faculty.  Based on courses held in 2002 and 2005 by the Burroughs Welcome Fund and HHMI, this book is a collection of practical advice and experiences from seasoned biomedical investigators.

Preparing Future Faculty (PFF)
This program is a national movement to transform the way aspiring faculty members are prepared for their careers. PFF programs provide doctoral students, as well as some master’s and postdoctoral students, with opportunities to observe and experience faculty responsibilities at a variety of academic institutions with varying missions, diverse student bodies, and different expectations for faculty.
