The House votes on the immigration status of foreign scientists

The immigration and residency status of foreign scientists is in the news again as House Republicans are pushing for a vote on legislation that would improve the chances of foreign PhDs with a science background to obtain green cards. While this issue has wide bipartisan support, the details of the modifications needed in the immigration process for these changes to take place may spell trouble for any chance this bill has of passing both houses of Congress.
