Senator Robert Menendez, D-NJ,
announced the passage of the Combating Autism Reauthorization Act on Tuesday. Senator Tom Coburn, R-Okla,
opposed the bill on the grounds that it would "[tie] the hands of the researchers and the directors at NIH" by setting aside funds for a specific area of research.
