The National Science Foundation announced Dr. John C. Wingfield will head the Directorate for Biological Sciences (BIO). Dr. Wingfield has been with NSF since 2010 as the division director of Integrative Organismal Systems. Wingfield is “honored” to accept the position of assistant director for BIO stating, "I feel it is the responsibility of the AD to pull together the incredibly diverse programs in BIO to advance our basic understanding of life that will contribute to human society in so many ways." |
